Salvador Bahia Brazil (Travel to Brazil)
“Salvador
Bahia, happiness land”, said one of the most poets that loved
this city, “the most beautiful”, says the popular song. Bahia
de Todos os Santos was the name given by Portuguese explorers in 1501,
when they arrived at this natural anchorage, with blue water guarded from
wings and flow. To the sides they founded the first Brazilian capital,
São Salvador da Bahia de Todos os Santos. Or simply Salvador.
African culture and ethnical heritage are more significant in Salvador
Bahia than in other capitals on Brazil, and involves the city in an atmosphere
of joy and enchantment. Baianos are proud to be black (“afro”)
in their music and dancing, in their rituals and parties, in their dressings,
in their food, beliefs and religiosity.
Because of this natural, historical and cultural wealthy,
Salvador Bahia is a place with many artists and arts. It’s said
that when baianos are not at a party, they are preparing themselves for
one. Salvador has one of the best Carnival parties on the country, with
lively sound cars (electrical trios) that lead crowds of people to follow
them, without stop dancing. Beyond Salvador, there are enchanted routes,
such as Linha Verde and Rota do Descobrimento, that lead to wonderful
beaches, a lot of history, adventure and, always, a lot of joy. Click

Fernando de Noronha (Travel to
Brazil)
WHERE TO STAY
There
are various choices of where to stay on the island of Fernando de Noronha.
All are tipically modest. In all there are 70 inns, classified according
to their facilities and touristic infrastructure, and a small hotel. Reservations
should be made early, especially for the months of January, February,
July and December, as well as for longer holidays.
Morena's Inn is one of the 5 best equipped inns of the
island. Other choices may be found in GUIA 4 RODAS and similar magazines.
The inns on the island function as boarding houses (breakfast,
lunch and dinner), or only with breakfast, charging per night and per
person. There is no limit imposed on the length of time a visitor may
stay on the island, although this is tied into the Environmental Preservation
Tax. This tax, paid upon arrival, progressively increases with the length
of the visit. Click Here for

Porto Alegre (Travel to Brazil)
The
capital of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre is also one of the “capitals”
of Mercosul, which facilitates the socio-economic and cultural integration
among the countries of South Cone of America. Observing Porto Alegre from
the top of Santa Tereza hill is being amazed with a city over hills, with
an edge that advances by the mysterious water of Guaíba. On the
Guaíba river, sun sets alight the twilight and inspires the poet:
“Céus de Porto Alegre, como farei para levar-vos para o céu?”
(Skies of Porto Alegre, how I’ll take you to the sky?) (Mário
Quintana).
The sky and the Guaíba river certainly are the main and the more
outstanding impressions of Porto Alegre. But the city has much more to
show and to celebrate with its visitors. Originally founded by 60 Azorean
couples (Açores’ inhabitants, Portuguese archipelago), it
has become a cosmopolitan city. It’s the place of people with tradition
and history, that have in their soul and in their features the heritage
of Italian and German colonists and the determination of the people from
the borderlines, responsible for defending territories, besides the characteristics
of other 30 races approximately. It’s a place of good food and good
businesses. It’s a place that deeply values the culture. Every October,
the Book’s Market on Praça da Alfândega (Alfândega's
Public Square) mobilize the entire city, and every place people talk about
the “book”. Click Here
